Thirteen Random Things That LYNN Did (Or Thought) This Week
(thanks Susan for the topic:-)

1. Well, obviously I thought that my cousin Susan had a great topic for her TT this week!

2. I also thought that she had a good point that it would be nice sometimes for someone else to think of a topic;-)

3. I had Monday off from school (as did my children) because it was the first day of gun season for deer...here!

4. I took my van in Monday morning to have my tires rotated because I've driven 6700+ since August 29th.

5. I also stopped at the BMV to purchase my new license plate sticker.

6. On Tuesday I celebrated my 45th birthday (hence the new sticker) beginning with an awesome sunrise (see pics), a homemade card from DD2 telling me that it would take two cakes to put 45 candles on, and ended with a nice dinner out with DH (plus a dozen roses waiting for me when I got home from work that day).

7. A few of my students were absent on Tuesday......and I considered that a gift;-)

8. DS felt ill on Tuesday evening and on Wednesday I went to work feeling horribly guilty for leaving him home alone when he was sick. I don't think I would have done that if he'd had a fever but as DH comes home every day from 11:30-1pm it wasn't too bad...but I don't know if I would do it again.....ugh!

9. Since DS was sick and I also felt a little blah, I cancelled a dinner date with a good friend. I was disappointed but decided it would be better to go next week when I was feeling better and wouldn't give her anything!

10. I got extremely stressed out last night when looking at all of the piles all over our house.....working full-time zaps any energy I have to deal with them, and our weekends are so busy I just felt completely overwhelmed.....

11. It was a real blessing to come home today to a clean house. DH has Thursdays off and he cleaned up many of the piles. Please note that many of these piles are my doing because I can never figure out what to keep and what to pitch. I can use prayers about this!

12. It was nice to read Susan's blog and know that I'm not the only one who struggles with a topic!

13. I did have a topic in mind but didn't have the time to work on it....so for next week my topic is books that I'm in the middle of, books that I have waiting to be read, and books that I'd like to acquire;-)

An Early Morning Birthday Present

God knows what I like;-) Now I just need a steadier hand or a camera with a stabilizer! Thank you all for your birthday wishes. It was a great day from this beginning 'til the end!

D - Drink Of Choice? Ice cold Coke with ice water being a close second;-)

E - Essential Item You Use Everyday? My blow dryer, otherwise my hair would never dry!

F - Favorite Color? A tie between Green and Purple.

H - Hometown? I was born in Marion, OH too, but grew up near Toledo, OH.

J - January Or February? February, it's closer to spring!

K - Kids & Their Names? 2 daughters and 1 son in the middle (K, D & M)

L - Life Is Incomplete Without? Jesus, my husband, children, extended family and friends.

N- Number Of Siblings? 1 brother

O - Oranges Or Apples? Apples right now, but when I was pregnant with DD2 it was definitely oranges;-)

P - Phobias/Fears? Falling...not heights mind you, just Falling from anywhere (also afraid of someone else falling if they are standing near the edge of something...can't even bear to look!)

R - Reason to Smile- My kids and I didn't have school today, because it's the first day of gun season for deer hunters (you know you live in a redneck county when.....)

S - Season? Fall in places where the leaves change colors, and then fall;-)

T - Tag Three People? Apparently I need to tag Dan, since Greg didn't, and I guess I can tag Mary (although I'm sure somebody else probably has;-) and Kdubs.

U - Unknown Fact About Me? I will be 45 tomorrow and I am not particularly excited about it:-(

V - Vegetable you don't like? I don't think there is one that I do not like!

W - Worst Habit? Procrastinating and overextending!

X - X-rays You've Had? CT, echocardiogram, MRI, back, ultrasounds, mammogram and dental...think that pretty much covers it!

Y - Your Favorite Food? grilled salmon

Z - Zodiac Sign? Sagitarius, but I don't follow that stuff.

Wordless Wednesday

THIRTEEN THINGS ABOUT MY DS

1. He turned 13 today, November 2nd.

2. He's passionate about basketball.

3. He's a good friend, brother and son.

4. He will patiently play with little boys who still love legos.

5. When he was in preschool he apologized for not having a girl friend yet.

6. At the same age he also announced that when he grew up he wanted to drive a "white mini-van" just
like mine;-)

7. He was the only child to draw on his white bedroom wall with red crayon!

8. He loves to draw.

9. He's a good sport and team player.

10. He still likes to spend time with his old mom;-)

11. He plays trombone and is currently earning money to buy a bass guitar.

12. He's active in boy scouts and youth group.

13. His mom is very proud of this young man who has a strong faith and genuine concern for others. Happy Birthday DS!
